Yolanda De La Torre of the Port of Los Angeles and Gene Seroka were among officials who thanked the council for supporting waterfront activities, while representatives of Navy Band Southwest and Pacific Battleship Center discussed community outreach tied to the festival. The city’s emergency‑management officials said recent summits and exercises strengthen readiness and foster relationships with military and private‑sector partners.
Council members encouraged Angelinos to attend Fleet Week activities and noted the events bring both civic pride and practical benefits for disaster preparedness. No ordinance or budget action was taken during the presentation; the remarks were framed as ceremonial and informational.
