Board approves several interim leadership appointments and a janitorial contract extension

Janitorial contract: The board approved Minneapolis Community and Technical College's request to extend its Marsden Building Maintenance janitorial contract by two years with an additional $1,791,382, bringing the total contract to a not-to-exceed $4,349,041 and extending performance through June 30, 2028. Administration stated this will be the last extension and that the college plans a competitive procurement for janitorial services ahead of the July 1, 2028 contract start date.
Votes and process: The workforce and organizational effectiveness committee considered the interim appointments and the full board approved them by roll-call votes. Committee and board members commended the appointees' experience leading academic and operational portfolios and their ability to provide stable stewardship during leadership transitions.
What comes next: Each interim appointment is intended to provide operational continuity while full searches are launched in the coming year.
