ARB approves Gley Avenue porch work with downspout and finish conditions

Board members requested the downspout be routed down the side of the porch rather than down the front to present a more finished appearance, and confirmed that the bay‑window roof will be removed and tied into the new porch roof. The triangular portion on the east elevation will remain open, and the porch ceiling will be finished in a beaded or tongue‑and‑groove material, the applicant said.
David Yates moved the approval with the listed conditions; the motion carried by voice vote with one member recorded as opposed.
Kevin Logan represented the client and described the planned integration of the existing bay details into the new porch geometry. Board members noted some plan notes were hard to read and asked for clearer details on the east elevation infill and ceiling finish so staff and reviewers can confirm the final construction meets the approved design.
The ARB’s approval is conditioned on the applicant implementing the agreed‑upon changes and documenting them for final staff sign‑off.
