Scott Brown, the Auditor of State’s central Ohio liaison, presented the Auditor of State Award with Distinction to the Olentangy Local School District at the May 20 board meeting.
Brown told the board the award recognizes a "clean audit" meeting strict criteria — timely filing of financial reports on GAAP basis, preparation of a comprehensive annual financial report and no audit findings such as material weaknesses or significant deficiencies. He said the award places the district in the top 4% of the audit office’s engagements.
Brown and board members specifically recognized Treasurer Ryan Jenkins and the district finance team for their leadership and attention to fiscal accountability. Board members thanked auditors and staff and said they would distribute pieces of the award around the district.
No action was required; the presentation was ceremonial and part of the district’s regular recognition of financial stewardship.
