Cape May County officials visited the Wildwood Crest meeting to present a county check for the Cape May County 250th‑anniversary grant program and to encourage borough participation in celebratory events.
Commissioner Bobby Bar, joined by Assistant County Administrator Ron Simone, praised the borough’s lineup of activities — including a planned reenactment of the Battle of Turtle — and said the county wanted municipalities and residents to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary with community engagement. "We want our municipalities...to celebrate that in the biggest way possible," Commissioner Bobby Bar said during the presentation.
Bar acknowledged County leadership (Director Deserio, Vice Director Bulwakowski, Commissioner Mory and Commissioner Rosinello) as the grant sponsors and presented the check to borough officials; attendees then posed for photos. Bar joked about not participating in the reenactment: "I will not be participating in the reenactments of it." Borough officials thanked the county for the award and said the funds would be put toward planned events such as the reenactment and a borough 5K.
The presentation was brief, ceremonial and took place at the start of the meeting; county staff and borough officials closed the segment with remarks and photographs.
