The Franklin City Park Board voted on May 21 to allow the Brandan Woods Homeowners Association to install a dual 'entering/leaving' neighborhood sign on city park property, provided the HOA agrees to maintain vegetation around the sign in areas not serviced by the city's contractor.
Parks staff described the proposed location adjacent to a long sidewalk that connects into Brandan Woods and noted the sign will blend with the natural trail entrance. Board members expressed concern about weed control near the sign if the city contractor does not trim that specific spot, and the HOA representative (Tom) indicated the HOA would maintain the area if needed.
A board member moved the permission with the maintenance condition; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. There was no discussion of fee or long-term lease in the meeting record.
What happens next: Staff will coordinate with the HOA on the installation location and the HOA will maintain areas not covered by the city contractor. The board did not set additional conditions at the May meeting.
