Lawrence Township Board approves minutes, personnel and routine business items

The board adopted the executive-session and regular-session minutes from its May 6, 2026 meeting after a motion and second. The roll-call on the minutes recorded Mr. Capparotta as Yes, Mr. Clark as Abstain, and Ms. Evans, Ms. Kroger, Ms. Kelly, Ms. Martinez, Ms. Pasquale and Ms. Pose as Yes; the motion carried.
Later in the agenda the board moved personnel items P1 through P17, covering summer positions, hires for the 2026-27 school year (including staff for the preschool program), retirements (including a 25-year special education assistant), substitute and nursing approvals, leaves and other personnel matters. The motion to approve P1'P17 passed by roll call with board members recorded as voting Yes.
Curriculum and student-services motions included approval of travel logs, the acceptance of a $2,895 donation of clarinets for instructional use at LIS, and authorization of out-of-district placements. These items were moved and passed by roll call.
On finance and business items, the board approved bills, budget transfers, grant acceptances, professional services contracts (including athletic trainers and therapy services), transportation renewals, and construction-related awards (including ramps and railing replacements at Slackwood and concrete steps and railing replacements at Sackett School). The board voted to move SBM1'SBM30 and MB1'MB10; recorded roll-call votes were Yes and motions carried.
There were no public speakers during the two public-comment opportunities. The board then unanimously approved adjournment and reminded the community of upcoming Memorial Day and strategic-planning dates.
