The board recorded a lump-sum fee of $19,500 to prepare a partial boundary and topographic survey at Myers Corner Elementary School and a lump-sum fee of $12,900 for partial topographic surveys at Wappingers Junior High School and John Jay High School for site improvements, wetlands delineation and related work; the motion passed unanimously.
Separately, the board resolved to delegate to Daniel Asher, assistant director of facilities, "the authority to review, recommend, and approve any scope of work that would constitute a change order in an amount not to exceed $20,000 under any contract for construction awarded under the 2025 capital improvements bond referendum." The resolution requires that when change orders are approved, copies with reasons and justifications be provided to the capital improvement committee, the superintendent and the assistant superintendent for finance and business development.
During the discussion trustees noted that delegating limited authority for onsite decisions is a routine practice for the district's capital projects to keep work on schedule. The board recorded that the 2025 capital improvements bond referendum had been approved by voters in a prior referendum and discussed the need to complete surveys before summer construction work can begin.
The motions on surveys and the change-order delegation were approved and recorded in the minutes; staff were directed to circulate approved change-order documentation to the named administrators.
