The meeting record includes remarks from the outgoing fire chief endorsing Steve for the chief position. The chief said Steve has roughly 25 years on the department, about 12 years as a command officer, and was promoted to assistant chief six years ago, and urged council to give Steve a chance in the role. The chief also said he will remain available for questions.
Officials noted they will meet with Dorsey Whitney to review recent property-tax legislation and its expected impact on future projects, and provided routine community reminders about Little League trail clearance, ice-cream days and county-fair dates.
