Marissa Berg, president of the Ogilvie FFA chapter and an 11th‑grade student, asked the board for administrative support to fundraise and attend the 99th national FFA convention in Indianapolis, scheduled for Oct. 21–24. Berg told the board the trip includes workshops, leadership development and college/career exploration and outlined fundraising strategies including charter bus travel and regional room blocks.
Berg estimated the trip cost at "around $900 per student" and said the chapter had several students interested. She asked for permission for the chapter to fundraise and for administrative support to coordinate travel logistics and fundraising compliance. The board acknowledged the request during open forum; no formal vote was taken at the meeting and the administration said fundraisers would be tracked through standard district procedures.
