Larry Chapman, a longtime East Troy resident and business owner, used the public comment period to ask the Village Board for a private, attorney‑free meeting to resolve a stalled negotiation that is blocking his company’s proposed new location in the village.
“I just would love to sit down with you guys and informally without attorneys and just see if we can work this out,” Chapman said, describing state‑approved plans, a design team and about 100 current jobs. He told the board the business started in East Troy in 1990 and that his family has lived in the community for generations.
Board members did not act on the request in open session; Chapman said he wanted a short meeting to “hash things out and move forward.” The board did not set a date in the record; staff are responsible for following up if the applicant requests a formal meeting or agenda placement.
