Board elects officers, approves consent agenda and food price increases

The Hartland-Lakeside J3 School District board completed its annual reorganization and regular business at the meeting. Trustees nominated and elected officers by voice vote: Matt McNeli was nominated and became board president; Chris Hegel was nominated for vice president; and Schwab was selected as treasurer.
The consent agenda — including vouchers, April minutes, personnel reports and donations such as a $350 American Heart Association gift for Hartland North — passed on a voice vote.
The director of business services and the food service coordinator presented recommendations to increase meal prices roughly 7–8% to help Fund 50 (food service) return to self‑sufficiency after repair costs and inflation. The district reported food‑service repair and spoilage costs had pushed the fund toward a deficit and that planned increases aim to reduce transfers from the general fund. The board moved and approved food price increases as presented.
Trustees also approved a 6603 shared physical‑therapist agreement with neighboring districts that revises cost‑sharing for paid time off, professional development and travel. The meeting closed after scheduling upcoming committee meetings.
