The New Haven School District Finance and Operations Committee voted to forward a packet of procurement items and agreements to the full Board of Education for consideration.
The packet the committee approved to send includes Google Education Workspace and Windstream purchase orders; agreements with Advanced Office Systems, Crown Castle (fiber optics), Securely Classroom and Sophos (security); data‑sharing agreements with Boundless Literacy/Reed Charitable (Bishop Woods) and the Yale Child Study Center; an amendment for Save More Cooling & Heating; a contract award to Tucker Mechanical; and five change orders covering pool equipment, cooling towers, chillers and a boiler. Committee members asked staff to annotate public postings to show the district’s portion of shared costs (for example, the district share for Crown Castle and the E‑Rate‑supported Total Communication package).
The motion to forward the items was made from the floor and seconded by Miss Downer; the recorded roll call showed the committee members present voting yes. No items were removed from the packet except that the Skiller Games data‑sharing item was held pending vendor confirmation about aliasing and parental consent and therefore was not included in the forwarded items.
The full Board will receive the items for its agenda. Committee members requested the administration include any revised contract language and markups when the items are posted to the full‑board packet so board members and the public can see changes made by vendors.
What’s next: The full Board will consider the items at its next scheduled meeting; staff will provide the markup and district‑share annotations requested by the committee.
