Tinley Park trustees approve two ordinances, OK $366,500 concrete contract

The Village Board of Trustees of Tinley Park adopted two ordinances and approved a public-works contract at its May 19 regular meeting.
Trustee Brennan moved to adopt ordinance 2026-O-033, which amends Title 11, Chapter 10 (business licenses) for the Village of Tinley Park, Cook and Will Counties; Trustee Shaw seconded the motion. The clerk called the roll and Trustees Brady, Brennan, Mayor Pro Tem Mueller and Trustee Shaw all voted "Yes," and the ordinance was adopted.
Trustee Shaw then moved to adopt ordinance 2026-O-032 amending Title 3, Chapter 36 (purchasing manual adopted by reference). After a second and roll call by the clerk, the motion carried with the same four present members voting "Yes."
The board also voted to waive competitive bidding and approve a contract with J&J Newell Concrete Contractors, Inc., for concrete flatwork and curb work under ordinance 2026-R-034. Trustee Brady introduced the contract, stating the not-to-exceed amount as "$366,500." The motion passed on roll call (Brady, Brennan, Mueller, Shaw voting "Yes").
These agenda items were presented as eligible for adoption after prior review at the Committee of the Whole on May 5, 2026, and no board member requested removal of items from the consent agenda during the meeting.
