The board also approved an Innovative Economics club at Germantown High School; that club will be volunteer‑led and gives students opportunities to produce research papers and video pitches on real‑world economic topics.
In personnel and special‑education business, Miss Katie Cole presented three extended‑school‑year (ESY) contracts tied to individual IEPs; ESY services are based on IEP data showing regression risk or emerging skills needing continuity over the summer. The board approved summer IEP diagnostic contracts (to meet statutory timelines for evaluations), supplemental contracts for counselors, psychologists and social workers for pre‑semester transition work, and minor adjustments to summer school staffing contracts. Time sheets will be required for all contracted hours.
Board members emphasized that ESY and diagnostic work are driven by IEP data and legal timelines; they approved the contracts and asked staff to ensure compliance with reporting and timesheet requirements.
