Board of Equalization schedules hearings after TERC order; county approves appraisal contracts

The County Assessor informed the board that the Nebraska Tax Equalization and Review Commission (TERC) has ordered that no order proposing an adjustment of the value for a class or subclass of real property in Logan County for tax year 2026 shall be entered and that no further proceedings shall be held to determine whether an adjustment should be made. The board recorded the Assessor’s notification during the session.
Following that report, the board reviewed contracts for property appraisal services from Central Plains Valuation for 2026–2027. By motion of Nathan Kramer, seconded by Jon Hill, the board approved the contracts as presented.
These actions position the county to hear individual valuation protests on the scheduled dates while noting the TERC directive limiting class or subclass adjustments for 2026.
