Logan County approves free Blood Pressure and Heart Hub at courthouse

The Logan County Board of Commissioners on May 20 approved installing a free Blood Pressure and Heart Hub in the courthouse meeting room after a presentation from Megan Trevino of the West Central District Health Department. The board voted to allow the installation during the regular meeting.
The hub, proposed as part of the health department’s Cardiovascular Health Learning Collaborative, will be available for public use during regular courthouse hours. Trevino told the board the hub is intended to give residents access to basic cardiovascular screening tools and to support community education about heart health.
Commissioners did not attach special conditions to the installation and directed that the device be placed in the meeting room. The approval was made by motion of Jon Hill, seconded by Nathan Kramer, with Yeas from Wonch, Kramer and Hill and no Nays.
The hub’s placement at the courthouse is designed to reach residents who regularly conduct county business at the courthouse and may not otherwise access screening sites; the board did not discuss long-term maintenance or funding for the hub during the meeting. The county clerk’s office will coordinate installation logistics and timing.
The board also received routine departmental reports and approved unrelated administrative items during the session; the next regular meeting is scheduled for June 17, 2026.
