Hampton County Council moves to solicit RFPs and bids for cleaning at 102 Ginn Ave

Hampton, S.C. — Hampton County Council on April 20 authorized the county administrator to seek requests for proposals and to solicit bids for cleaning work at 102 Ginn Ave.
The RFP was added to the agenda and the county administrator reported it had been drafted and posted the previous Thursday. Councilman Marvin Love moved to accept existing RFPs; that motion died for lack of a second. Councilman Jordan Jinks then moved “that we move further with getting bids on getting the building cleaned,” a motion seconded by Councilman Dennis Thompson Jr. The motion carried with all council members voting in favor.
The meeting record shows an earlier approval in the March 19 minutes that Councilman Love referenced; council members did not adopt the “accept RFPs” motion during this meeting. The council did not specify a contractor or a budget amount; procurement will proceed through the posted RFP process and subsequent bid evaluations.
Requests for proposals were posted for the stated scope of work at 102 Ginn Ave; the county did not announce a bid opening date at the meeting.
