On Camp Needmore operations, Williams proposed a one‑time $1,200 stipend for a volunteer who has been preparing the camp and recommended advertising and hiring a part‑time custodial position to handle cleaning year‑round. Commissioners suggested using a volunteer paperwork/worker's compensation form in the short term until the position is posted and asked Williams to bring a job description and proposed advertisement to the next meeting.
Williams also presented capital outlay estimates for cabin rehabs (Cabin 5 ~ $42,400; Cabin 1 ~ $45,834) and said the extension would put $5,000 in salaries to cover the new cleaning position. She outlined water quality problems at the camp—intermittent bacterial coliform hits—and short‑term mitigation (bottled water for drinking) while larger water and bathroom work would rely on grants and a pilot tourism grant over a two‑ to three‑year horizon. Williams proposed raising camping fees (from $10 to $20 nightly) and RV hookup fees (from $12 to $25) and formalizing a 20% discount for qualifying nonprofit groups. Commissioners asked for contractor quotes, bank statements and the Extension's meeting minutes ahead of the May 20 vote.
