Commissioners approve $35,827.88 grant for domestic violence intervention program

The Lewis and Clark County Board of Commissioners voted 3–0 April 14 to approve a $35,827.88 grant application to the State of Montana Board of Crime Control to support the county’s Domestic Violence Intervention Program. Alyssa Spies, Criminal Justice Services Diversion Coordinator, presented the application and told the board the grant period would run July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027; staff recommended approval.
There was no public comment. Commissioner Andy Hunthausen moved to approve the application; Commissioner Candace Payne seconded the motion, which passed on a 3–0 vote.
The grant, if awarded, will provide program funding for the stated period; staff will proceed with submission to the Board of Crime Control and return to the board with any further required documents or contract items.
