The Lewis and Clark County Board of Commissioners on March 17 appointed Ray Miller to the Canyon Creek Rural Fire District board to serve through the next regular election in May 2026.

During public comment, Jim Thomas, a Canyon Creek resident and the Canyon Creek Rural Fire District chair, said he supported both candidates; Trustee Wendy Adamson urged support for Ray Miller on the basis that he is running unopposed in May. Ray Miller addressed the Commission and said he felt obligated to help the community.
