Fallon County road crew outlines gravel work, culvert repairs and a plan to crush scoria locally

Staff asked commissioners to help coordinate with utility and easement holders so work can proceed. They also described plans to roll sandstone improvements and use heavy rollers to compact material.
Commissioners and staff discussed scoria currently piled on county property and the potential to contract a crusher locally to produce pit-run base material. Staff estimated about 5,000 yards may be available but cautioned local crushers typically prefer larger volumes; they will solicit quotes from nearby firms and report back with cost comparisons and logistics.
