The Weld County Board of County Commissioners voted on May 11 to appoint Jackie Trout as the county’s chief financial officer and director of finance. Trout introduced herself to the board, saying she was "excited to take on this challenge as CFO for Weld County" and noting she was born and raised in the county and graduated from Valley High School and UNC.
Commissioners offered unanimous praise and support. Commissioner Maxey called Trout "someone of your caliber" and welcomed her local knowledge; Commissioner Ross said Trout had received high praise from prior employers and local leaders and described her as "a winner." Commissioner Buck and Commissioner Peppler also welcomed her in remarks during the meeting.
A motion to appoint Trout as CFO was made and seconded; the board approved the appointment by voice vote. The chair welcomed Trout and said "Now get to work"—the board recorded no additional conditions or contingencies in the meeting discussion.
