Weld County commissioners approve multiple procurement awards, equipment purchases

Toby Taylor in Purchasing told the board the lowest responsive bid for bulk Portland cement (B260058) was CMEX Construction Materials South LLC at $199.55 per ton, a package not to exceed $924,116.05; the board approved the award by voice vote.
The Sheriff's Office requested two 10‑print/palm capture biometric live‑scan machines from IDEMIA Identity & Security USA LLC under Colorado’s cooperative price agreement REAA2025‑0334 for $60,936; Commissioner Maxey moved to approve the resolution and it carried. Purchasing also presented a replacement ambulance stretcher with a power‑load system for the coroner’s ambulance from Stryker Sales LLC via Sourcewell for $53,368.25; that resolution was approved.
Public Works presented a capital purchase of a cab chassis for maintenance support, the fleet department recommended buying from Transwest Trucks for $239,580 under Sourcewell contract 032824ACT; the purchase was approved. Facilities recommended using Brady Industries of Colorado LLC under the State of Colorado cooperative agreement (202269) to buy janitorial consumable supplies with a 2026 not‑to‑exceed amount of $100,000; the board approved the award.
All purchases were described as either budgeted in the 2026 capital budget or made via cooperative purchasing agreements authorized by Weld County code. Motions to approve were made by commissioners and passed by voice votes; staff will proceed with contract execution as appropriate.
