Board recognizes Golden Horseshoe winners and CTE pitch winners at May meeting

The Lincoln County Board of Education recognized students and staff during its May 19 meeting. Officials celebrated Golden Horseshoe winners (an eighth-grade history contest), student winners from CTE programs and presented counselor- and principal-of-the-year awards.
Students from Dunne Valley described their CTE pitch, "Wildcat Design," explaining they produce items such as shirts and coasters and that the team received awards and a $500 grant during a statewide pitch competition. A student presenter described the hands-on experience of researching manufacturers and producing a short video as part of the project; board members praised the students' work.
Superintendent Barnett and board members called out the district's CTE successes and said the county logo artwork originated with a graphic-design student from Lincoln County High School. The board also recognized counselor Brady Doody (Hart's PreK–8) and principal Lori Hatton for their leadership; both received thanks from the superintendent and board members for problem-solving and work that supports students.
Board members dismissed the recognition attendees to continue with regular business after expressing appreciation for student accomplishments.
