Examples included the Fire Department developing a defensible-space inspection dashboard and the Finance Department updating its debt management policy and lowering a general-obligation threshold described in the report.
The auditor said some recommendations were dropped after five years, but the Fire Department continues to work on several items and will provide a memo to council in six months responding to earlier requests. Council members asked clarifying questions and thanked the auditor’s office for consolidating follow-ups into an annual report and online dashboard.
No formal council action was required beyond receipt and discussion; the report will inform future oversight and follow-up work by council and staff.
