The Mason County Commissioners Court on April 13 approved routine accounts‑payable actions and accepted a series of small donations and a community grant. The court moved to pay bills and settle accounts; the motion was made by Commissioner Reggie Loeffler and seconded by Commissioner Fred Estes and carried.
The commissioners accepted donations of $400 to the county Nutrition Program, $50 to Emergency Medical Services and $100 to the Friends of the Sheriff fund after a motion from Commissioner Fred Estes and a second from Commissioner Dave Underwood. The court also accepted a $5,255 grant from the Mason Community Foundation designated for the county Historical Commission Department; Commissioner Reggie Loeffler moved the grant acceptance and Commissioner Buddy Schuessler seconded the motion, which carried.
Related to that grant, the court approved purchasing library shelving for the Historical Commission at a cost of $4,810.65; the motion was moved by Commissioner Fred Estes and seconded by Commissioner Dave Underwood and carried. Separately, the court approved amending Fund 8510 to create a new line item (5953) labeled Building and Building Improvements; Commissioner Dave Underwood moved the amendment and Commissioner Reggie Loeffler seconded.
The Road and Bridge Department presented a proposed purchase of a 5‑ton capacity floor jack and plate priced at $1,399.94 to be paid from Capital Assets. Commissioners initially moved to approve the purchase (motion by Commissioner Dave Underwood, seconded by Commissioner Buddy Schuessler) but subsequently voted to table the matter to a future agenda (motion to table carried).
The court recessed for an executive session before returning to complete the agenda and adjourned at 11:41 a.m.
