The court also approved Peace Maker Technologies Quote #QT-000300 to supply laptops for law enforcement vehicles under a four-year agreement. The contract will use Friends of the Sheriff funds for the first year at $14,700.00 annually.
The court approved creation of a part-time Investigator Clerk position in the sheriff’s office at four hours per week at $21.00 per hour with retirement benefits after a motion by Commissioner Fred Estes and a second from Reggie Loeffler. Commissioners also approved amendments to the 2026 budget-year order authorizing appointment of employees; those amendments were recorded in the minutes (Vol. 24, pages 133–135).
Other approvals included renewal of the PSTRAX inventory management software for Emergency Medical Services for 2026 at $2,128.80 and acceptance of the 2026–2027 Property Renewal Questionnaire with the Texas Association of Counties Risk Management Pool. A proclamation designating April 2026 as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month in Mason County was approved after a motion by Commissioner Fred Estes and a second by Commissioner Reggie Loeffler and entered into the official minutes.
The court received an IT workshop from Snider Technology and heard routine reports from the judge and commissioners; the minutes record the presentations but provide limited substantive detail on the workshop content.
