Board approves personnel changes, recognizes deputy sheriff and schedules public election equipment testing

The Board approved hiring Koby Karnes as an Engineering Summer Intern at $18.00 per hour, effective May 20, 2026 and contingent on pre-employment screening, on a motion by Bob Yoder, seconded by Marcus Fedler. The Board also approved raising Jackson Zahradnek's hourly rate from $18.75 to $19.50, effective May 20, 2026, on a motion by Marcus Fedler, seconded by Richard Young.
Auditor Tamera Stewart informed the Board that public testing of election equipment will take place Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the county maintenance shop across the alley from the courthouse; the test is open to the public. The meeting adjourned at 9:21 a.m. on a motion by Richard Young, seconded by Bob Yoder.
