At item 4.1 the board received an on-site update on new elementary school renovations. Mr. Gresson (speaker 2) reported that the cafeteria has been demolished, interior painting is complete, ceiling grid is being installed and flooring will follow. Windows are being put in and a new metal storage building is expected to arrive Tuesday and be up by Friday. A delayed transformer delivery has pushed the air-conditioning schedule but the transformer hookup was expected to happen imminently.
Gresson said site work will include grading and creating open areas for soccer and football practice; a full softball field with lighting was judged cost-prohibitive. He told the board offices are likely to move by the end of June and that substantial completion could be reached by the next board meeting. Board members thanked facilities staff for the work and asked follow-up questions about long-term use of the vacated property and drainage plans.
No vote was taken; this was an informational facilities update. The board directed staff to continue scheduling remaining work and to provide further details about site repurposing and timeline at a future meeting.
