Mason County commissioners approve routine expenditures, hire EMS staff and canvass Nov. 4 election
Summary

The court also voted to accept a donation of LRA material from TxDOT valued at $12,972.00 and a $30.33 donation to the county library; Commissioner Underwood moved and Commissioner Reggie Loeffler seconded the motion, which carried.
The court rescinded action from its May 27, 2025 agenda and authorized payment of Guardian Security Solutions invoice #24760 for $7,730.75 from Non‑Departmental Capital Assets (account 1000.0409 4950). Commissioner Dave Underwood moved the rescission and payment, with Commissioner Reggie Loeffler seconding; the motion carried.
Commissioner Reggie Loeffler moved and Commissioner Buddy Schuessler seconded approval of Snider quote Q13527 for a new workstation for the Nutrition Program at $1,299.99, with possible travel and labor fees estimated at $500.00; the court carried the motion.
On personnel and budget matters, the court approved paying the County Attorney Administrative Assistant using SB22 and county funds for $1,809.60 (moved by Commissioner Dave Underwood, seconded by Commissioner Buddy Schuessler) and amended Fund 1000.0475 in the 2026 budget to include line item 4002 (part‑time) with $1,809.60 (moved by Commissioner Fred Estes, seconded by Commissioner Reggie Loeffler). The court also approved hiring and classifying part‑time EMS basics Rodney Persall and Tristen Wolfe at $19.90 per hour with retirement benefits, effective Nov. 10, 2025 (moved by Commissioner Reggie Loeffler, seconded by Commissioner Fred Estes).
The court acknowledged the hiring of temporary election workers for the Nov. 4 constitutional amendment special election and then voted to canvass the Nov. 4 results; Commissioner Fred Estes moved the canvass and Commissioner Buddy Schuessler seconded the motion, which carried. During the random drawing for the post‑election hand‑count audit the court approved precinct 210 for the audit (moved by Commissioner Dave Underwood, seconded by Commissioner Reggie Loeffler). The court discussed a burn ban but took no action. The meeting adjourned at 10:48 a.m.; the adjournment motion was made by Commissioner Buddy Schuessler and seconded by Commissioner Dave Underwood.
