Commissioners approve routine consent items, carport project and road permits

On Aug. 4 the Mason County Commissioners Court approved accounts payable and several consent items, authorized a $8,500 carport for the historical building, approved a Mill Creek Road crossing permit for Bob Pfluger, and formally classified Newsom Cemetery Road as private; a donation item was tabled.
The Mason County Commissioners Court cleared routine consent business Aug. 4, approving accounts payable and multiple sets of minutes and taking several property and road actions.
A motion to pay bills and settle accounts was made by Commissioner Fred Estes and seconded by Commissioner Reggie Loeffler and carried. The court also corrected item No. 13 in the June 23, 2025 minutes to add 'Capital Assets' and approved minutes for June 9, June 30, July 10 and July 14 as presented.
The court approved a quote to build a tan-and-red 24-foot-by-24-foot carport at the county historical building by contractor Jax Tedder for $8,500; the motion was made by Commissioner Reggie Loeffler and seconded by Commissioner Buddy Schuessler. The court approved an application for a road crossing and right-of-way permit on Mill Creek Road for Mr. Bob Pfluger; Commissioner Reggie Loeffler moved and Commissioner Fred Estes seconded.
The court formally acknowledged Newsom Cemetery Road as a private road after a motion by Commissioner Fred Estes and second by Commissioner Reggie Loeffler. A separate item to accept material donations to the Road and Bridge Department was tabled to the Aug. 11 meeting pending more information on price per yard.
All consent motions in these items were recorded in the minutes as 'Motion Carried.'
