After closing remarks, the House read the bill for final passage and voted by machine. The clerk reported 64 ayes, 25 no and 11 absent; the chair declared the bill passed and the title agreed to.
The bill’s sponsor said the change is intended to “level up a little bit of the playing field” among facilities; opponents warned the formula could shift dollars away from centers that need them. The bill will now be messaged to the Senate for further action.
