Matagorda County commissioners approve equipment purchases, contracts and appointments

Matagorda County Commissioners' Court met in Bay City on Oct. 27, 2025, and by unanimous votes approved a series of routine and project actions including appointments, equipment purchases for Precinct 3, and a construction contract for the Sargent Community Center.

County Judge Bobby Seiferman presided over the session. The commissioners approved two equipment purchases for Precinct 3: a 2025 John Deere 5095M Utility Tractor through Sourcewell Ag (contract #082923‑DAC) for $83,179.32 and a John Deere Frontier FM4115 Flex Wing Grooming Mower through the same Sourcewell contract for $24,631.98. The combined purchase amount recorded in the minutes is $107,811.30; both motions carried 5-0.

The court also approved a rental contract with the Veterans of Foreign Wars for the county’s annual service awards banquet (Dec. 5, 2025) in the amount of $1,250, and authorized the County Judge to sign. Commissioner Estlinbaum moved and Commissioner Frick seconded approval of a contract with Frost Construction Co. for construction services related to the Sargent Community Center; the minutes state the project will be funded with Certificates of Obligation. Judge Seiferman adjourned the meeting at approximately 10:47 a.m.
