After closed session, Matagorda County approves HVAC repair, reinstates funding and signs contracts
Summary

After meeting in executive session, the Matagorda County Commissioners' Court reconvened in open session at 10:29 a.m. on April 6 and approved a series of agreements and a change order.
By unanimous vote the court approved an agreement with Star Service to provide additional HVAC repair services for county facilities. The court also approved an Agreement to Reinstate Limited Funding with Friends of Elder Citizens based on a prior court order; the minutes record the funding reinstatement but do not provide a dollar amount.
Commissioner Mike Estlinbaum moved and Commissioner Troy Shimek seconded approval of a contract with Sugarland Psychological Associates to conduct a psychological evaluation related to a Child Protective Services matter; that motion carried 4-0. The court also approved Change Order No. 1 with Terracon and authorized County Judge Bobby Seiferman to sign.
The executive session was conducted under the authority of the Texas Government Code, cited in the minutes as sections 551.0725 (consultation with attorneys regarding a contract being negotiated), 551.074(a)(1) and (2) (personnel matters), 551.076 (security) and 551.087 (economic development negotiations). The public minutes list the statutory bases but do not record deliberations from the closed session.
All post–executive-session motions recorded in the minutes passed by a 4-0 vote. The court adjourned at approximately 10:38 a.m.
