Volunteers representing a registered 501(c)(3) told the McCulloch County Commissioners Court on Sept. 22 they want to restore the courthouse gazebo, make it safe, and beautify the square. The group said it plans an October fundraiser and proposed adding benches around the square for public use during events and leisure time.
Allie Jordan delivered the McCulloch County Child Welfare Board annual report and thanked Sara Howard for her service to the board. The court approved the appointment of Hank Deitz to the Child Welfare Board by a unanimous vote.
Library staff reported that several books stored in the old Super S building were discarded because of water damage; the court approved donating library surplus books to the McCulloch County Library Association under Texas Local Government Code Section 263.152 and accepted donations and memorials for August 2025.
No formal objections to the gazebo proposal were recorded; volunteers were informationally received and encouraged to proceed with fundraising and planning.
