Broken Bow — At its May 28 meeting the Broken Bow City Council approved a package of routine administrative items, granted temporary street closures for community events and appointed a new city treasurer.
The consent agenda, approved by motion (Smith/Wassom), included approval of the May 14 minutes, listed bills totaling $190,705.99, approval of two fireworks applications (Loud & Proud and Troy's Hot Rocket), and the Broken Bow Ambulance Service official roster.
Council approved temporarily closing 8th, 9th and D Streets around the square on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a Custer County Historical Society car-show fundraiser. The council also approved temporarily closing South A Street along the north side of Tyke Arnold Field during games, per the Park Board recommendation.
The council approved the appointment of LeeAnn Taylor as City Treasurer; Mayor Sonnichsen welcomed Taylor and asked councilmembers to provide suggested input on the vendor ordinances to City Administrator Schmidt.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
