The Broken Bow City Council on June 11 adopted Ordinance 1284, confirming the sale of surplus real estate to Custer County Construction Inc. The firm was the only bidder at $8,200; upon adoption the city will execute and deliver a municipal deed to transfer ownership.
City Administrator Dave Schmidt explained Ordinance 1284 is the final step in the transfer process. During the public hearing Mona Weatherly asked for clarification regarding the municipal deed; the council closed the hearing and adopted the ordinance by unanimous vote, after which the mayor declared the ordinance adopted and authorized execution of the deed.
The adoption completes the formal municipal process required to convey the property to Custer County Construction Inc. The city clerk and mayor will execute closing documents as provided in the ordinance.
