The City of Broken Bow on June 11 approved a $153,097.19 contract award to Myers Construction for the Highway 2 Sewer Extension Project after receiving a single bid and securing an engineering recommendation.
City Administrator Dave Schmidt told the council that one bid was opened on May 22 from Myers Construction for $153,097.19 and that JEO had reviewed the submission and "recommends that the council approves the bid because all necessary requirements are met, and they feel that the bid is fair and competitive." Councilmember Russ Smith moved to accept the bid; the motion passed with Smith, Luke Wassom and Paul Holland voting aye and Councilmember Chris Myers recorded as abstaining.
The award concludes the formal bid opening and acceptance for the Highway 2 sewer extension; JEO provided the recommendation to the council, and the city will proceed with contract execution and project scheduling with the awarded contractor.
