SWCD warns of easement limits as ONCOR/LCRA 765 kV route is discussed

Mark Moseley of the McCulloch County Soil & Water Conservation District told the Commissioner’s Court on Aug. 11 that SWCD holds permanent easements on conservation dams and that prior SWCD approval is required before structures are added in easement areas.
Moseley discussed the ONCOR/LCRA proposed 765 kV transmission line route and cautioned that some easements restrict construction because of potential impacts on natural water flow for flood control. He told the court that Dam Watch had "tagged 5 dams in the last rains event for surveillance" and reported the dams "held as designed."

A member of the public, Bruce James, asked the court to support a resolution opposing the route; the court did not take action on a resolution during the meeting.
