Hollander framed the bid notice as the next step in the county's overlay program after recent crew work that included culvert replacements, berming for overlays, crack sealing on 550 N and in the Meadows, washout repairs on 300 S by Ceraland, and widening on 700 N. The county's Highway Department described the work performed during the preceding week as preparatory for larger resurfacing efforts.
The county did not specify funding sources or a construction start date at the meeting; Hollander provided the mileage and the engineer's estimate but did not attach contract award recommendations. The county will review bids after the June 1 opening and return to the board for contract approval if and when it recommends a lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
