The Albert Gallatin Area School Board voted April 15 to renew employee benefit rates for the 2026-27 fiscal year, award a three-year auditing contract and approve the district’s bills and payroll.
The board approved medical and prescription coverage through the Allegheny County School Health Insurance Consortium, which reflects an 8.3% increase over 2025-26 rates; vision coverage through the PSEA Health & Welfare Fund was renewed with no increase; and dental coverage through United Concordia Dental was renewed with a 5.0% increase, the board was told.
Business Manager Sally Matthews presented the treasurer’s report and asked the board to permit payment of prior-month obligations totaling $5,323,922.21, current month general fund bills of $555,973.94 and cafeteria fund bills of $124,222.23; the board approved those payments.
On auditing services, the board accepted a letter proposal from McClure & Wolf, LLP to serve as district auditor at fees of $33,350 for 2025-26, $35,250 for 2026-27 and $36,950 for 2027-28. The contract award was approved by motion and unanimous vote.
Separately, the board granted permission to change the district’s life insurance provider to Securian effective July 1, 2026. The meeting packet lists the benefit renewals, vendor names and contract amounts presented to the board.
The board also accepted building principals’ activity account reports during the meeting. The next regular meeting is set for May 20, 2026 at the D. Ferd Swaney cafeteria.
