Midland County proclaims October 2025 as National 4‑H Week; youth present projects

Cadence Stemmer and fellow members of Midland County’s 4‑H club addressed the Commissioners Court on Sept. 16 to accept a proclamation designating October 2025 as National 4‑H Week in Midland County. Steve Paz, the county extension agent for 4‑H and youth development, introduced the group and asked the court to adopt the proclamation honoring the Texas 4‑H Youth Development Program and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service for over a century of youth education.
The youths described their projects — including archery, food and nutrition, goat showing and dog showing — and thanked the court for its support. The court read the proclamation, which cites the program’s role in skill development and volunteer service, and all present signed the document.
A commissioner moved to acknowledge the proclamation; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The court encouraged the 4‑H members to continue their work and posed for a photograph following the recognition. The proclamation was introduced by Steve Paz (county extension agent) and presented by Cadence Stemmer (4‑H president).
