Commissioners set proposed elected-official salaries for publication after comparing peers

After debate, the court adopted the judge’s presented salary schedule for publication. Staff said the published figures must meet statutory notice requirements and that elected officials can challenge the schedule through the salary grievance process the court established earlier in the meeting.
Next steps: county staff will publish the proposed salaries in the legal newspaper notice as required and follow statutory timetables for any final action.
