State Sen. Arthur Orr presents $100,000 to Hartselle for new library venue; pledges further Depot funding help

Sen. Orr congratulated Mayor Missy Evans and the council on their first six months in office and said he would also work to secure a separate $100,000 grant to be used for repairs at the Depot during the next budget cycle. Council President Dr. Charles "Chuck" Gill, Mayor Evans and council members thanked Sen. Orr for the donation.
Council members said the funds will be used toward the library/venue project "in whatever way was deemed most useful," per the minutes. The announcement was made during the meeting's early agenda items; no formal vote was required to accept the gift.
