Court authorizes contingency payments, awards sewer RFP and directs fleet maintenance RFP

Staff presented an Atmos invoice for construction of a gas line to the jail and said Atmos requested payment before work began. The court authorized payment "contingent upon the auditor's approval" and recorded a motion specifying $955,629 for the Atmos payment pending the auditor's review.
On capital projects, procurement staff recommended awarding RFP 25MC0646 (permanent sewer line at the new jail) to Edgardo/Eduardo Madrid in the amount of $4,377,180.60. The court approved the award.
Separately, staff and a Vector Fleet representative (Jerry, speaker 23) discussed problems and ambiguities in the current 2013 maintenance contract that now covers nearly 381 vehicles. Commissioners directed county staff (Eddie and Chrissy, by name in the meeting) to issue an RFP for vehicle and equipment fleet maintenance and management services and to explore hybrid models (internal oversight with local shops) so the county can renegotiate ahead of the next budget cycle.
The court recorded votes and passed all motions by voice vote.
