The court approved a contract to replace the county's inmate communications service with IC Solutions for fiscal year 2025.
A presenter described the change as a move from Securus to IC Solutions using the NASPA purchasing cooperative; the switch was framed as financially beneficial and aligned with recent Federal Communications Commission reductions in maximum inmate call rates. "The FCC has changed their own fees ... it's gone down to a maximum of 7¢ a minute," one speaker observed, and presenters said ICS will provide tablets and additional services at no charge compared with the current arrangement.
County leadership confirmed the contract and the county attorney's approval was noted in backup materials. The court moved to authorize the county judge to sign the IC Solutions contract and the motion passed by voice vote.
