County transportation authority offers mini‑grants up to $750,000 for Atherton projects in 101 Corridor Connect plan

“Next slide, please,” Mansey said as she opened a summary of the program’s four goals: safety, connectivity, sustainability and inclusivity. She described how the authority split the corridor into North, Mid and South County strategies and identified twenty priority projects in each segment.
Mansey told the council the mini‑grant program is intended to advance priority projects from concept to shovel‑ready by funding feasibility studies, conceptual designs and community engagement. “We'd fund up to $750,000 per project unless it's a multi‑jurisdictional project, in which case you'd be eligible for up to $1,000,000,” she said.
Mansey named Marsh Road among the South County priority projects that could be eligible. She outlined an application timeline: letters of interest due in July with funding decisions expected in August. She also said the program does not require a local match and that selected applicants would participate in a site walk with TA staff.
Council members praised the outreach and asked technical questions about match and coordination; Mansey said the mini‑grant is meant primarily to support planning, not construction. The presentation closed with staff encouragement to contact the town’s project lead to discuss potential applications.
Next steps: Atherton staff and council members may prepare a letter of interest for the mini‑grant call and coordinate with the county authority on site visits and scope.
