Warren County economic‑development staff presented the county’s 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications and a total allocation of $904,912, including three public service project requests totaling $160,400 and eight construction projects summing to about $1.2 million.
"Our allocation for this year is 904,912," Miss Francis of Warren County Economic Development told the board. She said administrative set‑asides of roughly $80,000 reduce the pool available for projects and that HUD limits public service spending to 15% of the total. Commissioners and staff calculated the available funds and identified the need to trim about $30,400 from public-service requests to meet the cap.
Board members discussed specific adjustments: reducing Family Promise’s request (bringing it in line with prior-year awards), cutting or phasing a $200,000 construction item, removing a Franklin Township project if eligibility cannot be confirmed, and phasing Butlerville sidewalk work to spread cost over multiple years. Commissioners asked staff to confirm eligibility for a Franklin Township paving project and whether Pleasant Plain can hear surrounding sirens before funding a new tornado siren.
Staff said they will revise the draft funding plan and return recommended funding adjustments to the board.
