Carpentersville board ratifies five-year Flock camera agreement

The Village of Carpentersville on March 10 ratified a five-year continuation of its agreement with Flock Group LLC to lease license-plate-reader-style cameras used for law enforcement.
Ben (village staff) told the board the current contract began as a two-year arrangement in 2022 and that staff had an oversight in bringing the five-year renewal before trustees. He said Flock credited part of the payment from year two of the original agreement toward the first-year payment of the new term and that the village was holding payment for later years pending board ratification.
"This is an ongoing program that the village has," Ben said, describing the item as a memorialization and ratification of the agreement. Chief of Police provided staff support for operational questions but trustees did not raise substantive objections during the meeting.
Trustees moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by roll-call vote with all voting members present recorded as yes. The board noted Trustee Frost was absent. The motion carried and the village confirmed the agreement will extend through 2028 under the newly ratified five-year term.
No amendments or public objections were recorded on the floor. The board did not open further discussion or request additional staff direction before the vote.
